I'm Andre and apparently I'm dutch but I couldn't care less tbh. My nick is PTG which I use all over the place. I've been spending lots of my time on trading since 2008 and that includes education and "education" which can be kind of a double edge sword. Never been into squigglies really and always been in search for what to search for. I'd be surprised if that doesn't sound familiar. The answer for me lies inside of me, reflecting the saying you trade your "self" and not the markets which is another way of saying that if your trading isn't working out the way you envisage, you have to change something on your self and that's where the bottom of the rabbit hole lies. For me, profitable results are a by-product of the right actions. Reason I'm here is because right from the beginning in 2008 I was intrigued by "all you need is a horizontal line" but I never could put my head around it because my brain was wired differently and this theme has always been in the back of my mind whilst I was doing other fancy stuff. A while ago I came across the H4 thread on FF (never spent a lot of time there) and that is where it really started to come together for me. Let's see where this belief system leads to.

Well said, I sympathize with what you wrote, I feell like I have been running around in circles, over-educaing myself. I believe we are in the right place at last!

Thanks Sebastian and good luck to you too.

Over-education, from my perspective, points towards wanting to "know" what's behind the story. That's actually a part of "me" and by the looks of it, it hasn't served me that well in hindsight; but then again it was on my path to where I am now. I currently believe that there is not much to know upfront about where the market is headed so spending time on being pro-active e.g. finding turning points (supply/demand, S/R, low/high volume nodes etc.) is a waste in terms of time and brain capacity because it probably primes the brain to expect the market to do things it might or might not do. And what a relief that is ! Onwards and upwards.

Yes and they confuse me because what I see doesn't always match my expectation. There are tons of sites and "educators" reasoning from a hindsight perspective, suggesting that their material is worthwhile to use on the hard right edge. Well it certainly is for them, given their business motives. "If you just also learn this then all is fine". Right-o. ;)
